More About This Wine
Satèn, is the name that Italian winemakers have given to a particular style of Blanc de Blanc made in the Lombardy region. Satèn means silk in Italian, so expect softness, lushness and a particularly fine, supple perlage after at least 24 months in bottle. Aromas are reminiscent of green apples, brioche and citrous fruits. Minerality is high, with subtle saline notes and a fine mousse finish that is fresh and crisp.
Hows it's made
The grapes are manually harvested and soft-pressed, without the addition of any sulphur dioxide.Fermentation takes place for 90% in stainless steel tanks and 10% in barrique. The tirage happens in the spring following the harvest and the disgorgement takes place after a period of ageing on the lees that varies from 24 to 30 months. Subsequently, before being released for consumption, the bottles rest for at least 4 months.
