Barolo
Bricco Carlina
£47.00
Despite being their top release, the young, progressive, irreverent style of Bricco Carlina is still evident in their barolo. An opulent wine with tremendous purity and sense of place and a touch of attitude. Just like those very large women playing with confidence on the swing you see on the label.

More About This Wine
Deceitfully light coloured, with ripe raspberry, strawberry, violet , dry rose-hip and ‘panforte’ spices on the nose and palate. Supple and lively, this Barolo reveals a remarkable texture both velvety and sinewy with a fine and long finish. Ready to drink, but with 20-30 years of ageing potential. Those who wait will be rewarded with marvellous development.
Hows it's made
The grapes are de-stemmed and put in tanks where they stay in contact with the skins at a controlled temperature of 27C for 15 days. The must is pumped-over the cap 4/5 times per day, then the “submerged cap” maceration last from 30 to 60 days. Malolactic fermentation is completed right after the alcoholic. Aged for 24 months in 200HL of Slavonian oak and then a further 12 months in bottle before release.
