About Domaine
Eric Thill
Domaine Eric Thill is small holding in South Revermont, an up-and-coming region with innovative winemakers in the southern part of the Jura. Growing traditional Jura grape varieties including Chardonnay, Savagnin, Pinot Noir and Poulsard it was certified organic by Ecocert in 2015. Everything is harvested by hand with pesticides and sulphur used only minimally. Due to the low yield per ha, the wines are concentrated. The cool fermentation preserves the fruitiness and the long yeast storage gives the wines the necessary stability for long bottle ageing.
The domain sits within the AOP of Côtes du Jura. The Jurassic Poulsard grape comes from the “Grandes Vignes” plot, a marl terroir of the estate, while the Pinot Noir comes from “Longues Combes”, a clay terroir. The vines are 50 years old and sit on clay and limestone soil with southern exposure.
